About “synmergic.net”We are a small group of people developing interactive environments. Synmergic derives from combining the words synergy and emergence. We like to call synmergic the interaction between people through the unintended effect of one′s actions on someone else′s activities Although this is probably the most common form of interaction, especially in the everyday life, it is rarely given the appropriate consideration when it comes to creative work which most of the times is governed by rules and principles common to everyone involved. The synmergic interaction moves the emphasis from our perception of someone else′s work or outcome to the direct side effect of his actions on our activities. People participating in a “synmergic” group or network primarily formed by synmergic interactions might never come in direct contact with each other. Still, their effect on each other is strong and reveals relations and conflicts that otherwise might never come on the surface. Conflicts revealed in this way don′t need to be bridged or resolved but instead they can function as a source of inspiration for each and every one in a different way and in the context of his separate creative process.We intend to bring forward this kind of relations and make them the material and substrate for creative works. |
